Today the boys and I cleaned up the house. Well, I cleaned up the house, they cleaned up their rooms. It was not entirely voluntary on their parts, but they nonetheless worked hard and had good attitudes about the project.
At one point the Director came out with a bag of trash (I think it was his third) while I was sorting through some papers on the counter.
“I was just thinking,” he remarked, “that nowadays it’s almost like hard copies of documents are soft copies, and vice versa.”
“I know what you mean,” I replied, tossing some more papers in the trash. “I was just thinking there’s no point keeping all this old paperwork, because if it’s not searchable I can’t ever find what I want anyway.”
