Seems Facebook has partnered with Datalogic to link your Facebook activities to your real world purchases. The idea is to see whether you purchase things you see in Facebook ads, so they can sell more advertising space. You may or may not be comfortable with that; the article tells you how to opt out. For now, at least. The main reason I deleted my Facebook account was because they kept resetting all my privacy preferences every time they had an update.
Working on the Weekend
The girl in charge of billing has drastically cut back her hours over the last year. She’s working on her nursing degree, so this job is a little extra income for her. But at this point she’s only coming in on Saturdays, and not even every Saturday, so we’ve decided the office admin and myself will learn how to do the invoicing and ACH billing and whatnot, so we can keep up better and have staff available during the week who can answer clients’ questions.
So I’ll be going in on Saturday so she can walk me through her process, and I’ll get some hands-on experience with invoicing and billing to add to my repertoire.
The Artist Is Back
Apparently the HR person at the trucking company decided that due to his Asperger’s, The Artist wouldn’t be able to handle being a trucker. So they sent him home Monday.
He’s disappointed, obviously, but he’s still in the game. Before he’d gotten back he was already researching other trucking companies, and getting on trucking forums to chat with truckers about his options. So he’ll keep trying.
All our info is coming secondhand through The Artist, but my feeling is that some HR twat saw that he wasn’t reacting to things the way they would, and decided that he was therefore not capable. Bastages.
